Centennial Year 2016
Parish Mission
As the Centennial Year for our beloved St. Rita Parish family comes to a close, our spiritual leader,Father Wichlan,
has come up with an excellent and most meaningful way to close out this momentous year- A PARISH MISSION.
You may ask "What is a mission and what is it's purpose? The mission in the Catholic Church is an extraordinary
opportunity for people of faith to come together for the purpose of refreshing oneself in the teachings of the
Catholic church. As Father Wichlan states so simply but elegantly, " the mission is a program to bring you closer to
Jesus" and to one-another."
Your car needs an oil change periodically so that the engine runs more smoothly. Your air conditioner and furnace
need the filter changed to remove impurities in the air in your home. When you wash your car, doesn't it seem to run
better? After a shower, don't you feel refreshed?
Come to the mission and be refreshed in the Spirit of love and mercy. The theme of the mission is " The Face of the
Father's Mercy". Mark the dates on your calendar: Sunday-Wednesday, November 20-23. Mass and homily at
8:30am and Benediction and Liturgy at 7:00pm in church. Our guest liturgist will be Father John Knab from Our Lady
of the Snows shrine. EVERY ONE IS WELCOME ! BRING FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
